This article discusses picking jobs. Picking jobs are the most popular type of warehousing job in the UK. They can be very physically demanding, but they are also easy to get into with little or no experience. You'll learn about what picking is, where you work, how much people typically make, and some tips for getting a job.
Picking is when someone walks around a warehouse moving products from one place to another according to items, scan them with an electronic scanner, then take them to their destination within the facility (or put them on a conveyor pre belt transport). Pickers often have defined instructions that are displayed on a handheld device or computer monitor. The picker uses this information to find requested products that they need to move around the warehouse.
